2008 DOCK Appointment Scheduling Instructions Will Be Emailed to Registered Diplomates
In late May, diplomates registered for the September 2008 DOCK examination will receive an email from ACT, ABO's testing vendor, on how to schedule a one-half day test appointment at an ACT Center testing location. Because personalized information necessary to schedule a test appointment will be sent via email, it is important that registered diplomates add the email domain of ABO@ACT.org to their safe senders list. Registered diplomates can begin scheduling on June 2nd .

For more information on ACT visit the web site: www.act.org

Office Record Review (ORR) and the Periodic Ophthalmic Review Tests (PORT) are available on-demand, 24 hours a day, seven days a week through December 31, 2008.

To access your own personalized MOC Status Page, you must login to the website using your username and password. If you are a diplomate interested in accessing MOC activities and you do not have your username and password, click here.

Office Record Review Late Fee Waived Until June 30, 2008
Approximately 75 percent of the 1254 diplomates required to complete the Office Record Review by December 31, 2007 did so successfully via the ABO web site. The MOC process is designed to be completed in incremental stages throughout the ten year cycle, thus allowing diplomates ample time to complete each component without disruption to practice or personal life. ABO policy states that diplomates who do not comply with the required MOC timeframe, will be subject to a $300 late fee for each component not completed and will risk exceeding the ten year time limit and therefore loss of Board certification. However, the ABO will waive the $300 late penalty for the first six months of 2008 for the approximately 25 percent of diplomates who did not comply with the MOC timeframe for ORR in 2007. Those diplomates will have the opportunity to complete the ORR without being subject to the $300 late fee until June 30, 2008. Beginning July 1, 2008, the $300 late fee will be assessed for all those diplomates who were to complete the ORR by December 31, 2007.
